Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
Terminal 4 Concourse 4 North (T4N4) Federal Inspection Station (FIS)
In 2016, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) began a $21 million interior improvement project. The project’s aim was to modernize and improve the basement and apron levels of Terminal 4 Concourse 4 North (T4N4), including Customs Border Protection (CBP) areas.
Intellient acted as the airport owners’ technology systems manager, ensuring successful delivery for all CBP and airport systems design, implementation, testing and commissioning efforts.
Project Details
The project included a remodel of the CBP offices and support facilities and a reconfiguring of both primary and secondary CBP screening and inspection areas. The renovation also involved updating the T4N4 escalators and baggage claim carousels and adding a high-speed passenger elevator and oversize baggage elevator. The Federal Inspection Station (FIS) remained active and operational for the duration of the project.
